The transformation of Marlowe Elementary’s existing roofing system was a meticulous endeavor that commenced with Section 1. The scope of work was meticulously executed to ensure the roofing system's durability and long-term protection. In this section, we initiated the project by cutting EPDM at 5' intervals to inspect the existing insulation for moisture or deterioration. We then overlaid a layer of 20 PSI 1.5" polyiso insulation, installed wood blocking along the gutter edge to match the new insulation heights, and fully adhered a white 60 mil TPO membrane, complete with all necessary flashings, details, and terminations, meticulously following the manufacturer’s specifications. To enhance this section, a 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated coping cap was expertly installed on the parapet wall, and new 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated box gutters were added, equipped with corrugated aluminum downspouts to ensure optimal drainage to grade.

In Section 2, we inspected the existing insulation by cutting the EPDM at 5' intervals, followed by the installation of 20 PSI 1.5" polyiso insulation and a fully adhered white 60 mil TPO membrane. We added a 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated coping cap on the parapet wall and introduced new 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated box gutters with corrugated aluminum downspouts.

Section 3 involved the removal of existing EPDM and 2" insulation down to the Coal Tar Pitch Roof, followed by the installation of 20 PSI 1.5" polyiso insulation and a mechanically fastened white 60 mil TPO membrane. New 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated gravel stop and six aluminum retrofit drains were also integrated.

Sections 4, 5, and 6 received similar meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a tailored, durable roofing solution. To complete the project, we removed existing lights attached to the wall and carefully set them aside for reinstallation after the installation of approximately 411' of 42" and 279' of 12" 24-gauge, Kynar finish, 12" wide FW Panels. Base trims, corners, caulk, and fasteners were provided and installed per manufacturer's specifications. Gravel stop edge metal and coping cap were reinstalled where the wall panels were installed, along with appropriate black EPDM quick seam non-reinforced flashings and accessories. The coping cap was extended past the top of the new wall panels, and lights were reinstated on the wall panels, adding the final touch to this impressive roofing transformation.
