Beginning with ballast removal from the existing roof, we embarked on a meticulous roof replacement. From the gym roof, we removed the existing EPDM down to the 3.5” EPS insulation laying the foundation for renewal.
In pursuit of energy efficiency, we layered 20 PSI 2.6” polyiso insulation on the gym roof and mechanically fastened 20 PSI 2” polyiso to the steel deck, meeting R-30 and withstanding 72 mph winds. Drainage was enhanced with ½” crickets between field drains. The installation of insulation around mechanical units, sump drains, and reinforced edges showcases the focus on durability.
The .060 mil white TPO system, anchored by an invisiweld method, assured waterproofing and longevity. Our expertise extended to seamless integration with existing copper flashing and the introduction of 24 ga, shop fabricated metal details for both gravel stops and coping caps. Finally, the inclusion of 72 retrofit drains and white TPO walkway pads with safety markings highlighted the client’s commitment to functionality and safety.
