Mill Creek Intermediate School

At the core of the project was the complete restoration of Mill Creek Intermediate's major roof area. Our comprehensive scope of work included several vital elements to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. We installed ½" tapered insulation crickets at three HVAC mechanical units, re-flashed curbs with non-reinforced EPDM flashings, and introduced new 24-gauge, Kynar finish, shop-fabricated edge metal along the perimeter gutter edges. The existing EPDM roof received a fresh lease on life with a thorough pressure wash to eliminate any contaminants, followed by coatings of Everest Silkoxy flashing grade sealer on existing edge metals and gutters. A sacrificial base coat of Everest H3 Silicone coating was applied to the existing EPDM field seams before covering the entire roof with Everest H3 Silicone coating at the specified rate. The result? A rejuvenated roof that not only offers superior protection but also enhances the school's aesthetic appeal.
The project extended beyond the major roof area, including the revitalization of the small flat overhang and metal sloped roof. In the small flat overhang section, we removed the existing mechanically fastened EPDM membrane, EPS, and DensDeck coverboard down to the metal deck. We then installed a 20PSI 2.5" polyiso insulation layer over the metal deck and fully adhered a 60mil black EPDM membrane, complete with flashings and terminations to meet manufacturer's specifications. The front sloped roof underwent a striking transformation with the installation of 24-gauge, Kynar finish, 16" snap lock panels featuring 1-3/4" standing seams and all required flashings and trims per manufacturer's specifications. S-5 ColorGard unpunched snow rails were also installed along the eave/gutter to provide added safety and protect against winter weather challenges.
